Where the Details Come From
Every detail on a guayabera started as a solution and stayed as a signature.
The alforzas — those fine vertical pleats running front and back — were sewn in to let air move. The four pockets carried a day's work. The straight hem stayed untucked because tucking in a linen shirt in the heat was never the point.
It crossed from Cuba to Mexico to the Dominican Republic to Puerto Rico and it never really changed. Presidents wore it. So did grandfathers. Ours are cut the same way, in 100% linen and breathable cotton blends — four pockets or two, embroidered or clean-front.

The guayabera is one of the most recognizable garments in Latin American dress. Its four pockets, its vertical rows of alforzas, its straight hem worn untucked — the details are practical in origin and ceremonial in use, and they have survived more than a century of reinvention across Cuba, Mexico, the Dominican Republic, Puerto Rico, Colombia and the Philippines. It is worn to weddings and to work, to baptisms and to Sunday lunch, by presidents and by grandfathers.
