Description

A spread-collar beach shirt with a band of embroidered contrast trim running down the placket, aqua on white or white on aqua. The stitching gives the front a vertical line that reads finished without a pocket or a print, and the 55% viscose blend keeps the whole shirt light enough for midday sun. Two colorways, sizes S through 2XL.

Why You'll Love It

  • Contrast embroidered placket adds a single clean detail that carries the shirt from pool to dinner
  • Spread collar holds its shape open-necked, no pressing needed
  • Cool viscose hand drapes soft, dries fast, and packs small
  • Two mirror colorways: Aqua trim on White, White trim on Aqua
  • Machine washable on a cold gentle cycle

Fabric & Construction

The cloth is 55% viscose, 45% polyester: viscose for the cool, breathable hand and linen-like slub, polyester so the placket stays flat and the shirt recovers from a folded suitcase. It is a lightweight weave built for humid heat, and it holds the contrast thread color through repeated cold washing.

A spread collar tops a full button placket with tonal buttons. A narrow band of contrast-color embroidery is stitched along the length of the placket on both sides, sewn into the fabric rather than applied as a tape. Short set-in sleeves finish clean, and the straight hem has short side vents, cut to be worn untucked. The seams are flat-felled so they lie smooth against bare skin through a long day.

How to Style It

  • Beach club: Aqua-White with white swim shorts and slides. Find matching shorts in the resort wear collection.
  • Resort dinner: White-Aqua tucked into white linen pants, the trim reading as the outfit's one detail.
  • Beach wedding welcome party: either colorway with natural trousers and leather sandals.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • Yes. The cut is relaxed through the chest and body, and most customers wear their usual size. The embroidered placket is flexible and does not stiffen the front, so the shirt drapes the same as the plain styles. Size down one for a slimmer line through the torso. Sizes run S through 2XL in both the Aqua-White and White-Aqua colorways.
  • Aqua-White is a white shirt with aqua embroidery down the placket. White-Aqua is an aqua shirt with white embroidery. The white version is the easier of the two to wear, pairing with any trouser and reading dressier at dinner. The aqua version is the brighter beach and pool option. Both use the same thread density and the same 55% viscose blend.
  • No. The embroidery uses colorfast thread stitched into the fabric, so it does not run into the white ground in a cold wash. Wash the shirt inside out on a gentle cycle, hang to dry, and avoid bleach, which would dull the aqua. Handled that way, the contrast stays crisp through a full season of weekly washing.
  • Yes, particularly the Aqua-White colorway tucked loosely into white linen trousers with loafers. The spread collar and the single vertical line of trim read as a considered detail, closer to a dress shirt than to a printed beach shirt. It suits resort restaurants, beach-town evenings, and cruise nights with a smart-casual code. For a wedding-weekend welcome party, either colorway works with natural trousers.
  • A guayabera carries alforzas pleats, functional pockets, and formal standing across Latin America. This shirt borrows only the idea of vertical detail on the front and applies it as a single embroidered band on a lightweight viscose beach shirt with no pockets. Choose it for vacation and casual dinners, and a guayabera from the wedding collection when the occasion is formal.
  • Roll it with the placket facing out and lay it on top of the suitcase. The polyester content in the blend lets creases release within an hour of hanging, faster in a humid bathroom. If you arrive short on time, a hotel steamer or five minutes in a dryer beside a damp towel restores it without an iron. Never iron directly over the embroidery.
